PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Completed Construction Spring of 2023. This Foam-free Deep Energy Retrofit to a historic Mid-century Modern home is Net Energy Positive! Passive to Positive served as Passive House Consultant.

energy + iaq:

The envelope is a combination of cellulose-insulated 2x4 walls behind stone; R-40 cellulose-insulated new and retrofit frame walls; mineral wool, cork, batt combination insulation retrofit in basement; cellulose-insulated attic; mineral wool-insulated slab; high-performance triple glaze windows. 3.5 ton heat pump heats and cools with a wood stove back-up; includes whole house ERV and heat pump water heater.

materials + iaq:

No foam was used on the air-seal or insulation of this home; natural and non-toxic materials used through-out; salvaged, closed-loop materials from deconstruction projects used extensively.

water:

Water efficient fixtures were installed, including dual-flush toilets and low-flow fixtures, capture of condensate, rain cisterns will be installed for garden irrigation.
